A Wary Awareness (and a New Blog Series!)

woman scared

Now that you have awakened, I’ve decided that we’re going to go on a little journey together! This is now a post that will be a series I am calling “SCARED YET?” Just in time for spooky season - but be not afraid!

Let’s talk about what it means to be AWARE.

EEEEEEEEEK!

This past weekend was what some astrologers and numerologists call a “10-10-10” portal.

October 10, 2026 (2+0+2+6)

10 - 10 - 10

In numerology, 10 and 1 are not necessarily the same thing, although they both carry the power of the meaning behind “1”. The number 1 is symbolic of new beginnings, fresh starts, and individuality. The number 10 takes that same base explanation and amplifies it while also acknowledges that “10” can stand in for the true ending of a prior cycle. For example, in Tarot, the 10 card in each suit represents the culmination of efforts of all the prior numbers for that suit’s theme, embracing the celebratory nature of accomplishment. This serves the purpose of recognizing the past and the efforts taken to get to here as well as being emblematic of the cycle coming full circle and beginning again.

For me, the 1s have been quite loud! Not only did the 10-10-10 portal have its significance, but I have been seeing 11:11 and 1:11 constantly. When you consider there was also a new moon on that 10-10-10 portal, there is consistent messaging which just solidifies the need to begin. To align. To manifest what is to come next. For those who are along for this blog post ride, and for completeness’ sake, 11s are also supercharged 1s, but they add in the element of spiritual awakening, as well as ensuring alignment.

Funny thing about being awakened - once you’re awake, you become much more AWARE of all kinds of little synchronicities and everyday magic! But we’ll get to the creativity that emanates from alignment later in this journey - for now, let’s stick to the topic of Awareness.

In the dictionary (because I will always go there first to glean insights), awareness is defined as conscious knowledge, or a state of knowing and understanding. Interestingly, Wikipedia calls out that there is a dispute over the definition, as on the one hand it can be interpreted as cognitive access to information where sense data can be confirmed by an observer, while on the other hand it can equate to consciousness, knowingness, or sentience itself, the “Awakened” in the act of being “Aware of the Self”, or self-aware.

I think it’s all of the above.

Awareness is the act of noticing a pattern through bearing witness or paying attention. But once you notice, it forces a choice: be ok with knowing what you know and NOT changing, or consciously make a choice - design an intent - to actively change. Of course, there is also the option to actively try to forget that you know something so that nothing has to ever change. The only problem with this choice is that there’s really no way of UN-knowing something, however much some people try to. While ignorance is bliss, ignoring is bliss-less.

But that choice does exist because making decisions from awareness is difficult! And we’re not talking about the kind of choices such as “Oh, pumpkin spice is back on the menu this month, therefore, which coffee do I order”. No - I am talking about the deep, meaningful choices that shift timelines, personal trajectories, and the narrative story of our lives. Many of us may think we are aware, but we do not yet know what to DO with that awareness, thus adding a layer of liminality.

Difficult, that is, until you also add human design into the discussion.

As shameless as this plug may be, if you have been following along and have NOT yet pulled your chart and obtained your free report on what your human design is, it may be helpful to do so! But then definitely come back and continue following along!

There are many places in the body that “sense”. As one, simple example, if you have a very strong “gut reaction” - a visceral, body-knowing of “Yes” or “No” before your mind can even finish processing the question that is being asked and answered so quickly - you likely have a well-defined sacral center. This aligns nicely with the first two options in awareness: purpose-driven decisions in the moment. But when we don’t know what to do yet; or, we do, but the timing isn’t right yet. Or, our Sacral is tossing Yeses and Nos all over the place that begin to conflict, leaving us confused about how to approach or solve a complex issue. How the actual fuck can we possibly derive a decision based solely on our awareness?

Which is why the first lesson in human design is to “Follow the Authority and Strategy for your Type”. In other words, depending on what archetype you align to (Type), there is a pattern of applying awareness (Strategy) such that not only do you pay attention to what your body senses, but you also use that sense as a timely decision-making tool (Authority).

Let’s continue to use our gut reaction as the easy example: if you have a defined sacral center, then you are a Generator Type, including Manifesting Generators. The Strategy for Generator types is to listen to their sacral responses and know that what your sacral says is the RIGHT answer for your design. Except humans are complex, and we are not strictly binary (this includes genders, btw)! Not to mention, not all Generator types have a purely sacral Authority. Authority is the decision-maker in the room, and if all you are saying is “Yes!” to whatever your gut says, but tomorrow you think it was a bad idea, what do you do? Lastly, there are still three other archetypes that do not have a defined sacral center - what do THEY do, then?

Knowing your Type alone isn’t enough for your awareness to decide.

Further, how do we know what to decide? How do we know when to decide, or when to act? Our current societal norms would have us all moving at the speed of internet memes going viral, but the reality is that the world is spinning way too fast for any of us to process information that quickly. There are numerous studies about how quickly our nervous systems can deregulate under the stress of “too fast”.

Feeling awareness requires time to process. To integrate. To understand with enough depth and confidence to make a decision.

Therefore, let us sit in this liminal soup of confusion, as we should! It is, after all, the Number 1 job of this post: to Begin Being an Aware Human. But alas - as we are at the end of the blog post and merely at the beginning of this journey, I suppose we must sit in this liminal space together and await next week’s installment to find out more!
